We are looking for wonderful new team members to join us for the 2026 summer season!

Each year we welcome up to four people to stay on Vigur for the months of May, June, July and August to assist in the work of the Vigur Island Foundation, specifically the growing volume of scientific monitoring and record keeping throughout the summer. Full board is provided as is accommodation with shared bathroom and kitchen.

We are looking for people who can be flexible, self-starters who do not require detailed supervision or rigid schedules, team players who are enthusiastic to chip in with whatever needs doing, whenever it needs to be done and who thrive on the variety. But most of all we are looking for people who would relish the opportunity to spend some time in a very special part of the world and contribute directly to the preservation and protection of the nature and heritage that makes Vigur unique. Oh, and fun - we love those who are able to bring laughter and bonhomie!

Previous relevant experience is appreciated but enthusiasm is more important. Tasks can include nest and bird surveys, updating / creating records of collected information, assisting visiting field scientists, habitat restoration and education/engagement activity. Depending on interest and experience, many other responsibilities are possible including incubation of eggs, extending the herbarium, logging whale sightings and practical conservation work such as construction of artificial nesting habitats, anti-erosion measures and light maintenance of historic buildings. It is also possible to undertake your own personal projects.

We ask for a minimum committment of two months any time within the April to September summer period - but May and June are critical months for much of the work undertaken by the Foundation.
